Chapter 1767
Chapter 1767:
She stored her phone and strolled back to the room where she had been detained, nonchalantly kicked Moshe’s unconscious body aside, and took a seat.
Though this was Errol’s domain, Harlee made herself as comfortable as if she were lounging at home, utterly unfazed by the fact that she had been kidnapped.
As Rhys disembarked from the plane and got into a car, he immediately checked his phone and saw Harlee’s message. His expression darkened, his anger palpable as he sat back, a cigarette between his fingers, blowing a smoke ring into the air.
“He’s courting death,” Rhys hissed. The nerve of Errol, using Harlee as a lab rat!
A chilling coldness swept through Rhys’s eyes, deep and unfathomable. Stefan and Serena, seated behind him, felt a shiver run down their spines as they watched him in the driver’s seat, sensing the intensity of his fury.
“Mr. Green, what’s the plan? Are we going in guns blazing?” Serena asked, her voice tinged with caution.
Stefan, ever the joker, chimed in,
“I’d say Harlee is getting softer. To handle a mere Happer family, she had me go undercover for a year, and now she’s stepping in herself. It’s unnecessary. If you ask me, we should just destroy the Happer family, take out Errol, and if she needs any info from Nola, let me do the interrogation. I guarantee I’ll get everything Harlee wants out of Nola!”
Rhys remained silent, the coldness in his eyes growing more intense by the second.noveldrama
Serena glanced at Stefan and then quickly looked away, contemplating her choices in acquaintances. There were plenty of smarter men in the world. She should look for someone with a sharper mind.
Three hours later, Errol and several scientists returned from their celebration, jovially opening the door to the small laboratory—only to freeze in shock.
Everyone’s face turned sour, especially Errol’s. His cane clattered to the floor. Harlee was lounging casually in a chair, her foot resting on the head of a comatose Moshe.

Only Nola wasn’t surprised. If Harlee were that easy to defeat, she wouldn’t have been consistently outmaneuvered.
Harlee looked up at the astonished group, a smirk playing on her lips. She kicked Moshe aside and taunted,
“Errol, long time no see!”
Her voice jolted Errol from his stupor. How was this possible? Those two bottles of sedative were the laboratory scientists’ proudest creations. How had Harlee awakened so effortlessly? Moreover, even if she had, she should have been debilitated. How was it that Moshe was now incapacitated under her foot, looking as though he’d passed out?
Even if Harlee was strong, it seemed unlikely she could have overcome this situation alone—unless she was even more formidable than he had anticipated.
Errol shivered slightly as he realized Harlee might even surpass the capabilities of those venerable figures backing him. If that were indeed the case, then Harlee represented a terrifying threat. His supposedly flawless plan was not just thwarted—it might well lead to his complete ruin.
Errol’s face alternated between flushes of anger and paleness of fear as he stared at Harlee, his expression contorted.
“Harlee, how did you manage this?”
