Broken Beginnings: A High Heat Small Town Romance Suspense (Citrus Cove Book 1)

Chapter 28

I NEEDED THIS RIGHT NOW, I realized.

I need to feel the control. To know that he was here for me and to be able to give in to my desires. No one else was in control of my life.

Not David.

Not a serial killer.

Not anyone else.

And having this moment with Cam was helping give me that power.

Cam’s breath hitched, his eyes never leaving me. He pulled his shirt off, tossing it to the floor. He stood completely naked in front of me, his body perfect. I wanted more than anything to touch him, to explore his hard muscles with my hands.

But the fact was, my body still hurt, and I couldn’t move without feeling pain. Fucking bruised ribs would do that. For now, he would have to touch himself for me.

That turned me on in a way that I never expected.

“You’re so hot,” I whispered. “I love it when you look at me like this.

“Like what?” he asked, his voice slow and sultry. He knew exactly what.

I bit my bottom lip, watching as he slid his hand down to his hard cock.

“I wish I could touch you right now,” I whispered. “I wish that I could suck your cock. I wish I could be on my knees, pleasing you.” Fuck, I would do anything for that.

I moved ever so slightly on the bed, fighting off a wince as pain ran up my side.

“Haley,” he rasped. “Baby, I don’t know if I should be teasing you right now…”

“I’m the one teasing you,” I said, raising a brow. “Or have you forgotten that?”

His eyes darkened, his mouth tugging into a helpless smile. “No, ma’am, haven’t forgotten that at all.”

I was shocking myself right now, but the feeling was the highlight of the day. “You’d like that though, right? Me on my knees for you.” My own cheeks flushed, my words surprising me. “Wouldn’t you like for me to suck you off? You could hold my head while you fucked me.”

“Sunshine.”

He stepped closer, reaching down to grip my chin. His hand was gentle yet firm. He leaned down, his lips hovering a breath away from mine.

“The moment you feel better, I promise that we’re going to do every fucking thing that you can think of. Including me fucking your throat until you can’t breathe and you beg for me to stop.”

“Is that a promise?” I asked.

Cam chuckled and straightened, stroking his cock only a few inches from my face. “Yes, baby, it’s a promise. Now, spit on it.”

I spit on his cock, watching as he used it to lube his entire throbbing shaft. He let out a soft whimper, a noise I never expected to hear from Cameron Harlow.

He took a step back and then sat in his chair, his eyes fixed on me as he worked his cock up and down.

A shiver of need worked through me.

“Does that feel good, baby?” I asked, my voice husky.

“More than you know,” he huffed.

His cheeks were flushed, his lips parting with every pant. He let out a soft groan.

“Hand me a pillow,” he whispered. “If you can.”

I slowly reached back, grabbing a pillow and tossing it at him. He caught it, bending it so that he could thrust his cock into it. I sucked in a breath as I watched him, realizing that this was one of the most erotic things I’d ever seen in my entire life.

He was fucking a pillow, his eyes still fixated on me, never leaving me as he groaned, over and over. He cursed under his breath, his head falling back.

“Are you imagining that’s me?” I asked.

“Yes,” he rasped.

My pussy throbbed in response. I still couldn’t do anything about it, but watching him still brought me a sort of pleasure I’d never experienced before.

“Are you imagining filling me up? Giving me every drop of your cum?”

“I’m imagining bending you over this bed and fucking your ass. I’m imagining taking you over and over again. I’m imagining spanking you as I fuck you. And I’m imagining giving you every fucking drop of my cum and getting you pregnant.”

“Fuck,” I whispered. “Is that what you want? To get me pregnant…”

“More than you know, sunshine,” he grunted.

He kept fucking the pillow, thrusting into it, until he tossed it to the side. He let out a guttural growl, stroking his cock until he finally came. I watched his cum shoot out, landing on his thigh and dripping down his hand.

“Good boy,” I whispered. I blushed again, excited by saying such a thing.

He moaned softly, relaxing into his seat. I watched as he lifted his hand to his lips, his tongue licking up his own cum.

“Cam,” I breathed out.

“What?” He smirked. “Isn’t that what you would do?”

“Yes. I would…”

“Then open your mouth,” he said.

My eyes widened, but I did as he said. I parted my lips for him as he licked up the rest of his cum, but he didn’t swallow. Instead, he stood and walked to the edge of the bed, leaning over me. He gripped the headboard behind me, his face hovering right above mine.

And then he spat his cum on my tongue.

“Swallow,” he instructed. “This is what you do to me, sunshine. This is what you made me do.”

I swallowed, shivering beneath him. I’d never been this turned on in my life, and there wasn’t a goddamned thing I could do.

“Good girl,” he whispered. “I promise when you’re better that I’ll make it up to you. Maybe you can call me a good boy again.”

“Please,” I whispered.

His lips pressed against mine, the two of us sharing a depraved kiss. I moaned against him, my mind whirling. He always wound me up in a way no one else had ever done.C0ntent © 2024 (N/ô)velDrama.Org.

He slowly pulled back, kissing my forehead. “How are you feeling?”

“Horny and like I could kick David in the nuts.”

“Get in line,” he growled. “I’m going to make some food and then get in bed with you. And give you your meds.

“Thank you, Doctor,” I chuckled.

He winked at me and then reached for a T-shirt and a fresh pair of boxers from his dresser. I watched as he got dressed and disappeared down the stairs, leaving me alone for a few minutes. I closed my eyes, sinking into his bed.

Our bed.

Fuck, I was moving in with this man. I was going to build a life with him.

I knew it. Every part of my heart and soul knew it.

I had always sworn up and down that I would never stay in Citrus Cove. That I could never call this place home. But with Cam in my life, it was the only home I could imagine.

I thought about it. Thought about leaving tomorrow, packing everything up, and putting all of the things that had happened behind me. I could just move around the world, staying in hotels and Airbnbs as I traveled. Hell, I’d done it for most of my twenties.

It wasn’t impossible. But it didn’t feel right anymore.

The longer I knew Cam, the harder it was to envision a future without him.

If only they could catch the serial killer hunting me.

I sighed, thinking back to David. To the way he lunged for me, the hatred burning in his eyes.

I thought about Andy. The way he’d looked at me too.

Both of them hated me so fucking much, and I’d never done anything to them. It confused me, infuriated me, made me feel guilty for no reason. Like it was my fault that they’d decided to be psychotic.

What had David been like all those years ago? How in the hell had Sarah chosen him over Colt? Colt was who I would’ve sworn she’d marry. They’d been together in high school, always side by side unless she was with me or he was with Cam.

I’d never known why they stopped dating. Sarah never told me. I regretted not asking. The way Colt looked every time my sister’s name came up pained me.

After all this time, there was still a wound there. Maybe it was David.

David was older than me. Perhaps that’s why I didn’t remember him.

Andy was just a mystery entirely.

My phone’s text message alert sounded through the room. I opened my eyes and grabbed it off the dresser, dreading whatever had come through.

I breathed out a sigh of relief when I saw Emma’s name.

Emma: Bitch, if you don’t call me and update me on what’s going on, I’ll fly down there tomorrow.

I rolled my eyes and hit the call button, putting her on speakerphone.

Emma picked up. “What is going on? Hunter texted me.”

“Hunter did?” I asked, shocked.

“Yeah. I have the gun squad’s numbers now, remember? That was part of the protection plan that has apparently failed miserably.”

“It’s not like that.” I sighed. “But yeah, today has been a shit day. Sarah’s husband attacked me.”

“Do you have a psycho magnet implanted somewhere that I don’t know about?”

I giggled and then winced. “Noo, don’t make me laugh. I have bruised ribs. My whole body hurts.”

“Jesus Christ,” Emma breathed out. “Babe, I’m really worried about you out there.”

“I’m staying,” I whispered.

Emma was quiet, followed by a soft hum. “I knew the moment you told me about Cam this would happen. It was how you said his name. Something’s different. And now I have to move.”

“You know you don’t have to move.”

She scoffed. “And be away from you?”

“Yeah… I miss you. And I think you’d like it here…”

“You really think they could handle me? Big-city girl in a town the size of my street growing up. Don’t you dare laugh at that.”

I snorted. “I think you’d like it. We can get you some cowgirl boots and bedazzle them.”

“Deal.”

I grinned. “So this means I have the perfect boyfriend, the perfect town, and the perfect best friend.”

“Yeah, we just need to catch the serial killer, throw your brother-in-law in jail, and oh—find this infamous murder-weasel named Andy.”

I giggled despite the flare of pain, exhaling slowly. My eyes were starting to droop, my muscles relaxed entirely. “I miss you,” I sighed.

“I miss you too. I’m glad you’re okay though. Well, relatively speaking.”

“Me too.”

“Have you told Cam you’re staying yet?” Emma asked.

“No,” I whispered. “I will soon. I mean, he asked me to move in, and I said yes. We just didn’t clarify if that meant forever or not. There’s just been so much going on. And it’s fast, you know? The way we both feel. But it’s right. I think once you know, you know sometimes.”

“I think so too. I’m sure he’ll be happy.”

“I hope so.”

“If he’s not, we can run away together.”

I let out another laugh and then groaned from the pain.

“I think that’s my cue to let you get some rest. You’ll call me tomorrow? Or at least text and let me know you’re alive? I’m tired of harassing the squad.

“Yes,” I promised. “Also, they’re really not bad. Sammy is a sweetheart, Colt is a good guy, and Hunter is—”

“Sorry, nothing you say will make me like Hunter.”

I raised a brow. Once Emma made up her mind, it was no use trying to change it.

“He’s not that bad,” I said.

“We’ll see. Get some rest. I love you.”

“I love you too.”

I hung up right as Cameron came back, holding a plate with a bowl of soup and crackers. If he’d eaves dropped on me, he didn’t show it. I thought about telling him now I was going to stay, but decided to wait a little longer.

“Hey,” I said, smiling at him.

“I’m going to feed you, and then you’ll sleep,” he said.

“Yes, Doctor,” I chuckled.
