Chapter 39 Hurt
Nathan POV
“She fucking loves you, can’t you see that?” Lemuel’s words echoed in my head repeatedly, and I just couldn’t help feeling frustrated. If there’s anything I hate doing the most, is hurting anyone’s feelings, and I just did.
Stepping out of the company, I walked over to the parking lot, where I got inside my car, and turned on the ignition, before driving out of the compound. I think I really need to see Eve, we need to sort this whole thing out, she can’t have feelings for me, I love someone else, and that’s it.
After driving for what seemed like forever, I finally drove into our compound, and parked at the garage, before alighting from the car, after which I walked over to our apartment. Stepping into our apartment, I met Nora in the living room, watching TV, with her legs crossed, while eating from the bowl of popcorn beside her.
“Nathan you’re back.” She smiled, as she glanced at me, before taking her attention to the TV again.
“Yeah. Where’s Ivan?” I asked.
“He’s not back home.” She replied, not even sparing me a glance.
“I’ll be in my room.” I said, and with that, I walked over to the staircase, before climbing it. I dragged my feet through the hallway, till I got to the front of my room, and pushed the door open, before walking inside. Stepping into my room, I threw myself on the bed tiredly, while staring at the ceiling.
The thought of Eve, flashed through my mind, and I scoffed unbelievably. I think I need to go talk to her, I need to apologize to her, for treating her in such manner earlier today. Letting out a sigh, I ruffled my hair crazily, before standing up from the bed, after which I walked into the bathroom, and had a long relaxing bath.
After dressing casually, since I’m not going to somewhere too far from my apartment, I finally left my room to downstairs, where I met Nora, still watching TV. Ok, don’t she have something to do with her time?
“Don’t you have anything to keep you busy at all?” I rolled my eyes, as I walked pass her to the kitchen.
“Mind your business bro!” I heard her yelled from the living room, and I shook my head unbelievably. That girl is one hell of an annoying lady, she’s crazy.
After picking what I went to the kitchen for, I finally walked back into the living room.
“I’m heading out for a while Nora, see you later.” I said, and without waiting for her to say anything, I walked over to the door, and pulled it open, before walking out of the house, and soon, I was already on the way, walking over to Eve’s apartment.
Once I got to her apartment, I took a deep breath, and placed a knock on the door softly, waiting for her to usher me in, but got no reply.
“Is she not home yet?” I mumbled to myself, and knocked again, but still got no reply. I tried opening the door, but it looked like it was locked from inside, and that was when it dawned on me, that she may not be around. I sighed frustratingly, as I turned around and went back to my apartment…NôvelDrama.Org owns © this.
Eve POV
After I left the office, I drove straight to Nina’s house, I don’t want to go to my own apartment, seeing him will deepen my wound. I know what I’m doing is crazy, I know I’m overreacting, but I guess you haven’t been rejected by the one person you love, because if so, you would feel the pans I’m feeling right now. Though I haven’t made my intention known to him, but the handwriting is bold, it is written everywhere, that the feeling isn’t mutual.
After driving for what seemed like forever, I finally got to Nina’s apartment, and drove into the compound, before parking at the garage. As soon as I stopped the car, I got rid of my seatbelt, and tucked the strands of hair on my face, behind my ears, before I finally stepped out of the car.
The entrance door suddenly open, and Nina came outside with a surprised look on her face. Well, she should be surprised, considering the fact that I rarely visits her, and the time with which I am here now, is enough to make anyone surprised.
“Eve?” She called surprisingly, as she started walking towards me.
I finally closed the door of my car, and sighed, before walking to meet her.
“Nina, how’re you doing?” I flashed her a smile, and she gave me a suspicious look, before returning the smile.
“I’m fine. Come on let’s go inside.” She said, as she held my hand and dragging me with her. Once we walked into her apartment, I slumped on the couch tiredly, and got rid of my heels, before throwing them across the room.
“You look sad, is everything alright?” She asked worriedly, as she came to sit beside me.
“Get me something to eat Nina, I can’t talk now, I need to eat something.” I said, after my stomach grumbled. I’ve not had anything almost all through the day, because I’ve been busy taking care of something at work, and Nathan ruined my mood too.
“Oh one minute please.” She said, and she stood up, before hurrying away, while I waited patiently for her to come back.
After a few minutes, she finally came out with a plate of steamy hot noodles, and dropped it on the center table, before dragging it to my front.
“Come on go ahead and eat something. Let me go get you some water.” She said, and with that, she walked back into the kitchen, and came back almost immediately with a glass of water, and I resumed eating afterwards.
After a few minutes of eating, I finally dropped my cutleries, and sighed.
“What happened?” She asked worriedly and confusingly, and I told her everything. She stared at me for seconds, before bursting into laughter. Gosh! What’s funny about this whole thing now?…
