BIT 40
Rebecca’s mind raced as she stared at the message from Nicholas. The words “next level” sent a chill down her spine. She knew that whatever Nicholas had planned, it would be a critical moment in their charade. She took a deep breath and typed a quick reply.
“Sounds perfect. See you soon.”
She had no choice but to go. Running now would ruin everything she and Cathy had worked for. She needed to keep Nicholas’s trust, no matter how dangerous it felt.
Rebecca hurried home and changed into a sleek black dress, simple yet elegant. She applied light makeup, her hands trembling slightly. She couldn’t shake the feeling of dread that settled in the pit of her stomach.
What’s ridiculous was that when she saw her reflection in the mirror what appeared in her head was Harvey’s face. Since the confrontation she had at the hospital with Alicia and Harvey days ago, she had never heard anything from him again. He didn’t text her or call her at all but she couldn’t lie to herself that she missed him so much.
When she arrived at Nicholas’s place, the lights were dimmed, and soft music played in the background. Nicholas greeted her at the door, his smile warm and welcoming.
“You look stunning,” he said, leading her inside. The table was set with candles, and the aroma of a delicious meal filled the air.
“Thank you,” Rebecca replied, forcing a smile. She had to keep her composure, no matter what.
As they sat down to eat, Nicholas poured them both a glass of wine. He seemed relaxed, almost too relaxed. Rebecca watched him carefully, trying to gauge his intentions.
“This is lovely, Nic,” she said, taking a sip of her wine. “You really went all out.”
“I wanted tonight to be special,” Nicholas replied, reaching across the table to take her hand. “We’ve been through a lot, and I think it’s time we move forward, together.”
Rebecca’s heart pounded. She had to play her part perfectly. “I feel the same way,” she said softly. “I’m ready for whatever comes next.”
And the thing she feared most happened. When suddenly Nicholas kissed her gently.
She knew it should be easy to do, but every time she remembered how obsessed Nicholas was with her, she became really disgusted.
As Nicholas‘ hands began to move down to her neck, Rebecca silently prayed that something would happen. She didn’t want her body to be tarnished by a crazy person like Nicholas. And her prayer was answered. Suddenly there was loud banging on the door as if their apartment was being raided.
Nicholas removed his body from Rebecca, shocked, “I’ll see who comes,” he said tensely.
Minutes later, suddenly;
“Mr. Bennett, you’re under arrest for the collaboration you did with your group to impoverish and slender Mr. Harvey Specter and injure his wife who is now his ex–wife, Rebecca Harper.”
Nicholas looked at Rebecca in disbelief but he didn’t say anything.
Rebecca’s eyes widened in shock as she watched him being led away in handcuffs. The room was filled with chaos as officers swarmed the apartment, searching for evidence. She stood frozen, her mind racing to process what was happening.
An officer approached her, his expression was stern yet concerned. “Ma’am, are you alright?”
Rebecca nodded slowly, still in a daze. “Yes, I… I’m fine.”
“You’ll need to come with us for questioning,” the officer said gently. “We need to understand your involvement in all of this.”
Rebecca’s heart pounded as she followed the officer out of the apartment. The cold night air hit her, snapping her out of her trance. She glanced back at Nicholas, who was being pushed into a police car, his eyes filled with a mix of anger and betrayal.
As she sat in the back of another police car, her thoughts raced. This was the moment she and Cathy had been working towards, but it felt surreal. She couldn’t believe it was finally happening.
At the police station, Rebecca was taken to a small interrogation room. She sat alone, waiting anxiously. After what felt like an eternity, the door opened, and Cathy walked in, accompanied by a detective.
“Becky,” Cathy said, her face a mixture of relief and concern. “Are you okay?” Text © by N0ve/lDrama.Org.

Rebecca nodded, feeling a wave of emotion wash over her. “I’m fine, Cathy. What’s going on?”
The detective, a stern–looking man in his fifties, sat down across from her. “Ms. Harper, I’m Detective Harris. We need to ask you some questions about Nicholas Bennett, Alicia Fox, and Doctor Theodore. We’ve been monitoring him for some time, but your involvement is crucial to understanding the full picture.”
Rebecca took a deep breath, nodding. “I’ll tell you everything I know.”
For the next few hours, Rebecca recounted her experiences with Nicholas, Alicia, and Theodore. She explained her role in gathering evidence and how she had tried to maintain Nicholas’s trust while secretly working to bring him down. Detective Harris listened intently, occasionally asking questions to clarify details.
By the time they finished, Rebecca felt drained but relieved. She had finally told the truth, and the weight of the secrets she had been carrying began to lift.
“Thank you, Ms. Harper,” Detective Harris said, standing up. “Your cooperation has been invaluable. We’ll make sure you’re protected as we continue this investigation.” Cathy walked over and hugged Rebecca tightly. “You did it, Becky. It’s over. They arrested Alicia, Mia, and Theodore too.”
Rebecca clung to Cathy, tears streaming down her face. “I couldn’t have done it without you.”
As they left the police station, Rebecca felt a sense of hope for the first time in a long while. The nightmare with Nicholas was over, and she could finally begin to rebuild her life.
Suddenly a car stopped in front of her and someone got out from inside. Rebecca looked up,
her body stiffening instantly. “Harvey?”
He walked quickly towards her, hugging her. “I’m sorry you have to go through all this,” he said sincerely.
Rebecca was silent, she didn’t know what to do. In the end, she just cried without hugging Harvey back because the wounds he had left were so deep and he wasn’t sure that they could start over.
Harvey stepped back, his eyes filled with regret and pain as he looked at Rebecca. He gently wiped away her tears, his touch hesitant.
