Be Your Lover Forever (Alicia)

Chapter 1897

"Could you please help me, Sir? This contract is very important to me. I have to meet Mrs. Park. I swear that-"

She raised her hand and began making promises and vows once again. Carolien was so close to kneeling down in front of him. As their eyes met, she was wondering if she had been too casual with him and how she was going to make up for it. However, before she could do anything, she heard an unexpected response.

"Okay."

"Huh?"

She had been so worked up that it was hard for her to calm down just like that. The man said that in a loud and powerful voice and his words made Carolien stunned. "You... believe me?"noveldrama

His gentle gaze was focused on her body, and a gentle smile appeared on his relaxed lips.

Carolien felt like she was dreaming after that. The man not only helped her find relevant documents but also specially called a top-tier doctor over to help her out. He replied to all of her questions easily, as if they were just having a casual chat. The man and the doctor conversed in Korean while she listened from the side.

The door was shut with a click. The doctor left, and the air gradually became cold and quiet. While looking at the elegant and slender figure on the revolving chair who was wearing a mask, Carolien slowly walked away. However, she was unable to come back to her senses for a long time.

"I've done all I could do. I hope I was able to be of some use to you."

She vigorously nodded over and over again. Carolien's eyes were fixed on him, and she felt like she was in a trance.

"Thank you. You've done a lot! You've helped me out so much without asking any questions... Aren't you afraid that Guillermo will get mad at you when he finds out? I mean, it's not like you're familiar with me. What if-"

Why had the man put in so much effort to help her? He even took the initiative to call a doctor over to help her inquire about Mrs. Park's personality and impression. All of it benefited her greatly, but she had gotten way more than she ever dreamed of.

"I trust his judgment. Furthermore, I am his... elder, so it's fine," the man stated.

There was a brilliant glow reflected in his deep eyes, and his soft voice flowed like a stream of water. Every time Carolien heard it, she inexplicably felt as if the man in front of her was her ex-lover.

Their eyes met and they stared blankly at each other for some time. Carolien snapped back to reality and quickly stretched out her hand. "Thank you for today! I'm sorry for wasting so much of your time. I won't disturb you anymore, Sir."

She wanted to say "see you again".

Despite that, when the words were at the tip of her tongue, Carolien swallowed them back down. She would not have gone there if had any other choice. She didn't want to meet them again, whether it was Guillermo himself or anyone from the Collins family.

Carolien froze with her hand outstretched, and a touch of sorrow flashed across her face subconsciously.

Meanwhile, the man gazed at her clean and slender palm. Under his gloves, his fist was slightly clenched. In the end, he did not return the gesture. "Sorry, my hand is a little injured. I'm wearing gloves, so it wouldn't be polite to shake your hand like this."

She quickly retracted her hand. Carolien smiled. "It's alright. Goodbye, Sir."

Carolien bowed in appreciation and walked towards the door with his bag in her hand. Just as she opened the door, she heard a slightly anxious voice from behind her.

"Caro- Miss Jones!"

Turning around, Carolien looked at him again. "What is it, Sir?"

After what seemed like a century had passed, he spoke up once again.

"You can come to me anytime if there's something you need. By the way, how long will you be in the city? Where are you staying? Is it safe? I mean... Once Guillermo comes back, he might want to invite you out to dinner," he explained.

"No need. I'm going back to my country after finishing what I need to do, either tomorrow or the day after. I'm probably not coming back here." Even if she came back to Korea, she definitely wouldn't go looking for Guillermo.

After a pause, Carolien continued, "Sir, if it's okay with you, you don't have to tell him that I was here. I... I don't want to interfere with his life."

After nodding, Carolien quickly stepped through the door and practically jogged out of the magnificent building.

Behind her, the man's feet trembled slightly as he watched the door. He tightened his fists several times, which produced crackling sounds. In his ears, the charming woman's voice and the bright and clear voice of the man gathered into sweet laughter,

"Guillermo, when you go to further your studies, I'll start selling products from Korea. That way, whenever we go to Korea, we can go as a pair. It'd be well worth the trip, right?"

"Doesn't that mean you're just going to follow me around?"

"No! You always take advantage of me... I'm angry now. Hmph! I don't like young hunks, I like handsome men who are older and more mature."

"In that case, I'll have to try my best to grow a beard so I can look like an old man. Since I've got a petite young girl like you, I have no other choice."

"Hehe! Hey there, old man."

"Guillermo, next time, whenever I've done something wrong or if I need a favor and can't say it, I'll call you 'old man', okay? No matter how angry you are or if we're arguing, you're not allowed to ignore me!"

"Let's get married, Carolien. Even if everyone in the world opposes it, I still love you. I want to be with you forever! I love you to the moon and back, Carolien."

"Happy birthday, Guillermo! I wanted to tell you... I've decided to accept your proposal. Hehe! Come and take your birthday present. I love you forever."

Taking off the gloves revealed a pair of white, slender, and strong hands that belonged to a young man. Looking down, the man couldn't help but murmur to himself.

"Although it wasn't on purpose, things happened just like you said. Once again, I've become an old man in your eyes. Do you have any idea how happy I was, Carolien?"

She fled back to the hotel in a hurry. Because of the history between them, Carolien's heart was shaken up. For a long time, she lay on the bed and stayed still, completely dumbstruck. Tears suddenly welled up in the bottom of her dried eyes.

After finishing her research in the hotel, Carolien prepared all the things and carefully looked through them again. Only then did she get the address and take a taxi to the mansion residential area in Kingstone District.

She stayed at the gate from three o'clock in the afternoon until eight o'clock at night. No matter what ideas Carolien thought of, she couldn't catch sight of Mrs. Park at all. She didn't even get the chance to see her enter or exit the place.

Time ticked by, and she was getting a little anxious. If she didn't spot Mrs. Park that night, it would be too late to sign the contract. There was not much time left for her.

Carolien thought about it and decided to take a risk. After walking around, she chose to wait at the side gate. Finally, a maid came out. Unfortunately, even after shamelessly talking to him for a long time, in the end, all she found out was that Mr. Park was not at home and that Mrs. Park was at a dinner party. One was good news, and the other was bad news. Carolien's shoulders drooped and she was completely shattered.

She was both hungry and tired. At the gate, Carolien took out some bread and water to eat. All she could do was wait and hope that the two of them would not come back together.

Why hadn't she seen Mr. Park leave?

It seemed that the mansion's layout was indeed not as simple as she had thought. The person she had spoken to was Mrs. Pu's personal maid, so her words should be more trustworthy.

Fortunately, Carolien told her that she had come to talk to Mrs. Pu regarding a beauty program. Otherwise, she would not have had a chance to talk with her. It was really all thanks to Collins Group's beauty agency.

Actually, Guillermo was a foreigner. However, he happened to have a Korean relative, so that gave him an advantage. Collins Group Beauty Agency's business was amazing. Even in another country, they were not inferior in any way.

If Guillermo were to find out that she had begged him for a favor because of the deal she made with Elijah, he definitely wouldn't help her. For all she knew, he might even hate her to death.

However, that wasn't necessarily true, either. After all, it had already been a few years since they broke up.

On the foreign street, she sat in front

of the gate in silence as the frigid wind blew. Her mind was thrown into chaos. Carolien's nose suddenly

felt a bit sore. She chewedg

mouthful of bread to suppress her emotions. Suddenly, she saw a flash of light before it disappeared. She instinctively jumped up. As expected, the lights at the entrance soon turned on and it seemed that the gate was about to open. Closing her eyes, she rushed over.

"Mrs. Park, I have something very important to tell you!"

There was a burst of rapid braking sounds, and a man shouted impatiently, "Are

you f*cking insane?"

"Get her out of here!"

Then, someone got out of the car. Although she only caught a single glance,

Carolien was certain that aside from the bodyguards, there was only one woman

in the car.

Mr. Park wasn't there, which meant her opportunity had come.

"Mrs. Park, give me a chance. I have something very important to talk to you

about in private. Give me two minutes!"

Leaning on the front of the car,

Carolien urgently tried to get closer. Even though she was being pulled away and beaten up by the bodyguards, she still did not give up. The situation was out of control for a moment, but in the end, she was still very weak. Even after using all her strength, she could only watch the black car slowly pass through the gate.

"Mrs. Park, this has something to do with Mr. Park! It's a serious personal issue!

Give me a chance!"

"Don't you care about your husband?"

"Just two minutes-"

While yelling at the top of her voice, Carolien tried her best to rush in. Every single

time, she was dragged away by the bodyguards. Again and again, all kinds of punches and kicks landed on her body.

She was in great pain all over. With a thud, she was pushed to the ground and fell over. Even so, she still insistently roared and rushed to the gradually closing gate,

slamming it and crying.

"Mrs. Park!"

If she couldn't see her, there would be no hope.

She refused to give up. Her whole body was haggard, with blood squeezing out of

her fingers, and the bodyguards kept pushing her away. Even so, she never gave

up, but in the end, the cold iron gate was tightly closed in front of her.

"Sob, sob..."

Carolien leaned against the gate and

collapsed on the ground. She didn't know if it was out of desperation or pain, but she couldn't help crying out loud. Although she knew that they

might not be able to hear he from inside, she didn't give up and kept hitting the gate for a long time. Finally, her tiny hand was full of scars and she had no strength anymore. She stopped and sat there

for what felt like ages. Just when she was lost, the side gate suddenly

opened and a maid came out.

"Mrs. Park has invited you in."
