Back in Time: Unshackling From Love (Mikayla Davidson)

Chapter 19

Chapter 19

Taylor intentionally played it coy, saying, “Without a reasonable explanation, I’m afraid you won’t be able to convince me.” Property of Nô)(velDr(a)ma.Org.

To suddenly have a woman he had only met once seek collaboration, especially when the was the wife of his adversary, was something anyone would find hard to believe

Mikayla understood his skepticism and chuckled, “What if I say our goals align?”

“Oh? Is your goal also to bring down Jerome?” Taylor’s interest was piqued once again.

“can’t guarantee the rest of Jerome’s business, but I’m determined to dismantle Bernhal Enterprise!”

Bernhal Enterprise was under Kylie’s management.

Thanks to her previous life in the mental hospital, Mikayla had a clear understanding that even if she didn’t confront Kylie, Kylle wouldn’t easily let her off.

In that case, Mikayla decided to settle the score and reclaim everything she had lost in her past life.

“I’ve heard that you love Jerome dearly. You had even pursued him for several years. before getting married. How come you suddenly want to go against him? Have you guys turned against each other?” Taylor inquired.

Mikayla’s smile faded slightly..

She had hesitated before, wondering whether she should confront Jerome directly.

However, when she asked Jerome last night if he would be with Kylie after the divorce and received no denial, she instantly threw caution to the wind.

In her previous life, Jerome had contributed to her suffering by enabling Kylie to access. the mental hospital.

“Mr. Blue, I’m here today with my utmost sincerity.”

Mikayla continued, “While a billion may not be a significant amount, it is a substantial sum of money when transferred into your hands. I will only be responsible for investment banking operations afterward, without involving any of your trade secrets. However you calculate it, you won’t lose.

“Are you so afraid of Jerome setting traps for you, and that’s why you lacked the courage

to cooperate with me?”

“Provoking me? Interesting!”

Taylor became thoroughly intrigued. “Mrs. Miller, I’m interested in this collaboration. It depends on how you can secure Ansoft Enterprise.”

“It’s a deal then,” Mikayla agreed readily. “To catch up with Bernhal Enterprise’s progress, send me the relevant investigation materials for this project. I’ll provide you with a feasible proposal, and then we can finalize the other details.”

“Sure.” Taylor extended his hand to Mikayla in good spirits. “Mrs. Miller, I wish us a pleasant collaboration in advance.”

Mikayla also shook his hand. “Thank you, Mr. Blue, for giving me this opportunity. However, in the future, don’t call me Mrs. Miller. You can call me by my name or just call me Ms. Davidson.”

After exiting Taylor’s hospital room, Mikayla went to another hospital to retrieve her medical examination report.

Apart from anemia caused by long–term dieting, her body was in good shape in other aspects.

Mikayla breathed a sigh of relief. Health was the capital of revolution, and even mild anemia shouldn’t be taken lightly.

Following the doctor’s advice, she purchased some iron supplements and then returned to Dragoncrest Villa.

In the CEO’s office at the Miller Group, Mike was briefing Jerome on the investigation results from last night.

The situation was similar to what Jerome had learned.

Mikayla entered the room carrying fruits with a normal expression, but when she knocked on the door, she seemed shaken by something. Then, she rushed into the room.

“I checked the woman from Ms. White’s house last night. She’s a distant relative from Ms. White’s hometown. Her son got into trouble a couple of days ago, and it seems she wanted to borrow money from Ms. White.”

Jerome asked, “Did Mikayla have any interaction with her or her son?”

Mike replied, “I checked, and there’s no connection. They only came to Marisville this

year

and were living in their hometown before. Madam doesn’t often go out, so there’s no interaction with them.”

Why would Mikayla go mad out of the blue?

Could it be, as Kylie said, that she was venting her anger because of his reproach?

Mikayla’s acting skills when she got out of the car were so convincing that she event fooled him.

“Mr. Miller, there’s another matter about Madam that I’m not sure whether to report to you…” Mike spoke up again.

“What is it?”

Mike opened his phone and handed it to Jerome.

Jerome took a look and saw the surveillance footage from the main hall lobby.

In the video, the receptionist intercepted Mikayla, stating she couldn’t see him without an appointment.

Mikayla handed over a file folder, asking her to pass it on. However, the receptionist

threw it into the trash and insulted her with words.

As Mikayla argued with the receptionist, they appeared.

“A director dropped his badge a few days ago, and when I was retrieving the surveillance footage for him, I happened to see Madam in the lobby,” Mike explained.

Jerome remained silent.

The video proved that Mikayla wasn’t lying that day. She had been wronged and insulted by the receptionist.

Mikayla was known for her arrogance, so how could she be so easily bullied by a mere receptionist?

“Doing wrong and still trying to justify it? Mikayla, you are truly despicable!” The footage displayed the moment when he coldly accused Mikayla.

Mikayla’s face visibly darkened, and she chuckled in self–derision before producing the divorce agreement.

The sudden heaviness overwhelmed Jerome, causing him to furrow his brow.

“Mr. Miller…” Mike cautiously called out since Jerome had remained silent for a while,

“Get out.”

Mike didn’t move.

“Can’t you hear?”

Mike replied, “My phone…”

Jerome tossed the phone back to him and commanded in a cold tone, “Fire that receptionist, and spread the word that no one is to hire her. Also, enhance the training for new hires in the HR department.”

“Understood, Mr. Miller,” Mike said, “I will instruct all the staff that from now on, Madam comes, they are to direct her straight to the office.”

when

Jerome raised his eyes, intending to comment on Mike’s unilateral decision, but the words stuck in his throat, and he felt annoyed. “Just go out!”

Mike respectfully exited the office.

Taylor was highly efficient. By the time Mikayla got home, the information about Ansoft Enterprise had already been sent to her email.
