Alpha King’s pregnant Ex-Luna

Nelly’s mind raced as she pondered her next move. “Maybe I overreacted,” she thought, “but I can’t ignore the danger of Grandpa and the kids being home. I have to be cautious.”

She put on a composed expression as she faced Alpha Kilian. “I’m alright now, so I can go back on my own. Don’t you have something to do? Let’s keep our distance.”

But the more she rejected him, the more Alpha Kilian wanted to send her back. “Are you worried about me or afraid that your boyfriend will see us and get the wrong idea?” he asked.

Nelly let out a weary sigh. “It’s the same thing.”

He smirked. “Well, it’s simple. Either he comes to get you, or I send you back. You decide.”

Alpha Kilian couldn’t help but be curious about the man Nelly was so protective of. Who could evoke such strong feelings from her?

Nelly stayed silent, unsure how to respond. If only she actually had a boyfriend to call and rescue her from this situation. But where would she find someone like that?

She mustered a smile at Alpha Kilian. “Thank you for your help.”

He remained speechless, hungering for more information.

Nelly quickly changed her strategy, feeling a pang of disappointment from Alpha Kilian’s desire. She stepped forward and looked him in the eyes. “Tell me about the man you’re so afraid of me meeting.”

Alpha Kilian was certain that Nelly had a “boyfriend,” so she had to make something up. After a moment of thought, she replied, “He’s perfect in every way.”

“What do you mean by perfect?” he pressed.

“He’s low-key, kind to others, takes care of me, and is incredibly loyal. He’s everything you’re not, so you wouldn’t understand,” Nelly shot back, thinking of how she raised her children to be nothing like Alpha Kilian.

He fell silent, stunned by her words.Copyright Nôv/el/Dra/ma.Org.

Alpha Kilian sneered, challenging her. “Oh really? Such a man actually exists?”

“Of course! Just because you haven’t met anyone like him doesn’t mean they don’t exist. There are plenty of good people out there, they just don’t belong to your world,” Nelly said, relishing in Alpha Kilian’s defeat.

She felt a sense of satisfaction finally being able to say these things without cursing at him.

Alpha Kilian stared at her, his mind spinning. “I’m curious now. I want to meet this man you’re so afraid of.”

Nelly immediately rejected his idea. “In your dreams.”

“Why are you so scared of me meeting him? Or was it all just a lie?” he questioned.

She shook her head. “No, it’s not a lie. He’s just too good that I’m scared you’ll take him away from me.”

His speech was momentarily halted, finding her reasoning irrational.

Unsure if she was telling the truth, Alpha Kilian gazed at her. “Fine. I’ll meet him sooner or later.”

Nelly appeared nonchalant, knowing it would never happen.

As she finished eating, Alpha Kilian picked up a bag left on the side and said, “Let’s go if you’re done.”

Nelly got up from the bed, put on her shoes, and followed him, not paying much attention to his actions.

Despite her worn-out appearance, Nelly still retained her beauty.

When they stepped out the door, they were greeted by Fabian.

He informed Alpha Kilian, “Alpha Morris, everything has been taken care of.”

Alpha Kilian replied, “Go back to the company for now. I have other things to attend to.”

“If you’re sending Ms. Jackson home, should I take care of it instead?” Fabian offered.

“I’ll be in your care,” Nelly chimed in.

Fabian wanted to protest, but a look from Alpha Kilian made him think twice. He cursed himself for interfering. This wasn’t the place for him to get involved.

“I remembered I have something urgent to attend to. Please accompany Alpha Morris, Ms. Jackson,” Fabian quickly said, not waiting for a response. “Alpha Morris, I’ll head back first. Take care.”

Nelly frowned. “His acting is terrible.”

In the car, Nelly sat comfortably, not caring about being proper.

Most women would want to impress Alpha Kilian, but not Nelly. She did whatever she wanted.

In the past, this kind of behavior would have turned him off. But now, it felt refreshing for him.

Meanwhile, Nelly remembered something and turned to him. “Oh, how much do I owe for the hospital bill? I’ll transfer the money to you.”

Alpha Kilian discreetly looked away. “You don’t have to. It’s not a lot.”

“Even if it’s not a lot, it’s still your money, so I have to repay it. How much is it?” She took out her phone.

He glanced at her. “Consider it me showing off my wealth.”

She stayed silent for a moment, then nodded. “Alright, if that’s what you say.”

As they drove, a hint of displeasure lingered on Alpha Kilian’s face.

Nelly paid no mind, adjusting her posture to get more comfortable and preparing to take a nap.

“Nelly,” he called out.

“Hmm?” she hummed.

“After our divorce, where did you go?” Alpha Kilian suddenly asked.

She looked at him. “Why do you want to know?”

“I searched for you, tried to find any trace of you, but I couldn’t. I couldn’t find anything,” he confessed.

Nelly was surprised. In the past, she was afraid he would find her, so she erased all evidence of her existence.

But he really did search for her.

And now, here they were, sitting together and talking about it peacefully. It was an indescribable feeling.

She responded casually, “Oh? Must be fate then.”

Fate? She never believed in it, but Alpha Kilian stopped asking.

As he let the matter go, Nelly also stopped pursuing the conversation.

The car glided silently on the road, enveloped in silence.

Nelly’s desire to nap vanished as she looked out the window, lost in thoughts about the past few years.

From the day she met Alpha Kilian to their marriage, enduring his contempt, and finally divorcing him, all within a little over a year.

That one year felt like an eternity, leaving a lasting impact on her soul.

When she left, she never expected to be sitting here now, talking to him as if they were old friends.

The words they exchanged in this short time surpassed everything they had said during their entire marriage.

Lost in her thoughts, Nelly couldn’t help but curl her lips into a mocking smile.

Alpha Kilian noticed and asked, “What’s making you smile?”

“Nothing. I just realized how much everything has changed,” she replied.
