A Reborn Bride Pearl Emerging from Dust

Chapter 693

"Isn't that right?" Valerian let out a soft laugh. "Honestly, those guys aren't anything special. Have you seen the way Calliope acts? She doesn't even acknowledge us as her brothers. Like if she gets all buddy-buddy with those other brothers, we'll just roll over and treat her better? Please."

"What makes her so special, anyway? I'd love to see how far those brothers of hers would go for her if we weren't around."

Ulysses glanced at Valerian, frowning slightly.noveldrama

"Valerian, they haven't said a bad word about us. Not even once. In fact, it's like we don't even exist. To them, we're just background noise. They don't care about us at all."

"And Callie doesn't mention us either. I think she really doesn't care about us anymore. What she cares about are those other brothers. They've known each other since before she could walk."

"Forget about blood ties for a second. They've been there for her way more than we ever have. Honestly, what did we ever give her? Do you even remember her birthday? Do you remember what gifts we got her? Do you even remember what she was doing on her last birthday?"

Ulysses's questions hung in the air.

Valerian froze, blindsided by the truth. He searched his memory, but realized he barely knew anything about Calliope at all. All the times he could have spent with her, he was off with Lisette instead.

A dark look crossed Valerian's face. He couldn't believe it. He'd always thought he was a good brother to Calliope, but looking back now, he realized he'd done almost nothing. No wonder she didn't care about them.

Lisette seemed to sense something was off. She didn't dare let them keep digging up old memories. If everyone started thinking about the past, they'd all realize it was always Lisette who interrupted their time with Calliope.

Thinking quickly, Lisette turned to Valerian with a sweet smile. "Valerian, I'm starving. Can we order now?"

She glanced at Ulysses and Horatio. "You guys hungry? I could really go for some food."

Horatio and Ulysses exchanged a look and, for a split second, something clicked. They both

started remembering whenever they wanted to reach out to Calliope Lisette always popped up with some excuse. She always had a reason to pull them away, always at just the right moment.

Was it on purpose, or just a coincidence?

Either way, it seemed too convenient. Why was she always there to stop them?

Both Ulysses and Horatio stared at Lisette, suspicion flickering in their eyes.

Lisette shifted in her seat, looking a little uncomfortable. "What? What's wrong?"

"Nothing," Ulysses answered quickly, shaking his head.

Lisette didn't seem like someone with a master plan. Maybe it really was just coincidence.

Horatio thought the same. There was no way Lisette would scheme like that, not deliberately. Probably just bad timing. If anyone was to blames was them. They hadnt pard it enough attention to Calliope.

mont, they all shrugged it

After a it off and turned their attention to the meny ready to order to order burgers, fries, and milkshakes and mov on.
