Winning Her Heart Again

Chapter 106: Thankful

Chapter 106: Thankful

Jasmine's POV

It's been three days since Diego was in a plane crash. It's also been three days that we've been here in the hospital waiting for him to wake up.

"Please, you have to wake up now; David is waiting for you" I wiped my tears while holding his hand. I admit that Diego is special to me.

I couldn't count how many times he helped me. If it's not because of him, maybe I am not in this situation right now, maybe I don't have this kind of life right now.

He helped me, and he's still helping me. When I found out what had happened to him, half of my heart broke into pieces.

Diego and I were not in a relationship, and yet it's been years since he courted me. It's been a year since he showed me how important I am to him. Even if I have a child with my ex-husband, he still accepts me. Not only that, but he also accepted my son and treated him like his own son.

He's really a big part of my life-I can't deny it. It hurts seeing him in this situation. All he did was take care of us, to make sure that David and I were alright. He always thinks about us, even if he's not feeling well.

I remember when we were abroad. He was sick at that time. He actually had a high fever. I was still pregnant with David at that time. He always wears a Facemask just to make sure that I won't get infected with him. But then I suddenly felt pain in my tummy. Even if he was not feeling well, he still rushed me to the hospital because I couldn't take the pain.

I was bleeding that day. I got scared about my baby. I kept on crying, but he was still there to calm me and kept on saying that everything would be okay and he wouldn't leave me no matter what happened.

He actually never did until I lost consciousness. When I woke up, he was still right by my side, even though he had a high fever.Published by Nôv'elD/rama.Org.

We both experience so many struggles abroad. I should have been the only one to experience those things, but he never let it happen. He stood by my side even in the darkest moments of my life.

Even if I'm moody sometimes, I keep on requesting food that is really hard to find. When I start to get mad because of the pain that I am feeling, he always understands me and makes me happy.

When I was sad, he always offered his shoulder so I could cry. He was like my handkerchief, wiping my tears whenever I was crying. He became the person that he was not.

Diego is Cold and silent. He doesn't really like to be surrounded by people and always keeps himself busy at work. But then, as days, months, and tears go by, he's slowly changing, and I know it is because of me and my son.

I saw how much he had changed, from a serious, cold man to a Happy, loving father to my son. He became our clown, our greatest wall to protect us from danger.

"Diego, I know you've been waiting

for how many years. And I'm really sorry for making you wait. It's just that I don't know. Just please wake up. I don't know what to do without you. You were the only one there by my side when I needed someone to help me." I sobbed. I caress his hair. I kept wiping my tears, but they kept falling.

He sacrificed so many things. The way he treated my son, how he owned him like his own son. He always makes sure that we are fine, supports me, gives me comfort, and never leaves me and chooses to stay with me. There are a lot of things that he did and sacrificed that no one knows but only me.

"I am so lucky to meet you. I'm so thankful to Diane if it is not because of her. Maybe I don't have Diego by my side right now. I will always be thankful and grateful to you, Diego; I don't want you away from us. I can't. Please," my voice cracked. don't even have a good sleep. Especially the first time I came here.

I'm so nervous, I'm in a panic. I was so lost, and I didn't know what to do that day. I'm just forcing myself to be positive because of my son.

"Did you know that David can't wait for you to wake up? He's been here all the time checking on you; he's waiting to play with you again. You promise to come back, but not in this kind of situation." I let out a heavy breath. Trying to calm myself.

"You promised to come back; we were just talking that night. Why is this happening to me? All I got was to feel pain and regret. "I feel like it's my fault why this happened to him.

I am supposed to be abroad. The board asked me to go, but since I was busy here And I'm still handling an important client, I can't leave my job. He insisted that he would go because he needed to check the company's situation.

I didn't argue with him about it, but now I regret everything. I knew they needed him there, but now I can't accept what happened to him.

This is my fault. Damn it!

"This is my fault. I'm sorry, Diego. You are not supposed to be in this situation right now if I am the one who went abroad. "I don't even have enough voice.

"Mommy!" I immediately wiped my tears when I heard my son coming inside the room.

"Baby!" I smiled broadly while hugging him.

"Did Daddy Uncle wake up now?" He asked me. I carried him to sit on my lap.

"He's still a sleeping baby. But don't worry, Daddy Uncle will wake up soon, okay?" I fixed his hair while he was nodding.

"We cooked for your lunch, ma'am Jaz; we knew you hadn't eaten" Cherry placed the boxed food on the table. I smiled at her. "Thank you," I mouthed at her, which made her smile.

"Daddy Uncle, wake up now. Mom and I are waiting for you. I missed playing with you."
